Wooden Decks
We design and build wooden decks and terraces using locally available woods, avoiding exotic species that require long-distance transport. High-quality, durable options include acacia, oak, and thermo-treated beech, chosen for their strength and weather resistance. Softwoods such as larch or thermo pine are excellent alternatives to hardwoods, providing a cost-effective solution.
When possible, terrace elements are prepared in our workshop before installation. This approach reduces on-site noise and dust, also minimizing the installation time.
The deck structure is designed to minimize water stagnation, ensuring a long-lasting and stable surface. A well-built terrace provides an even, safe foundation for garden furniture and outdoor activities, creating a functional and inviting extension of your outdoor space.
Thermo pine deck
A new thermo-treated pine deck was built in Baar, Zug to replace the old terrace, which had worn down after two decades of use. In a circular approach, the old wood was repurposed and given a second life in an exhibition at Kunsthalle Zürich, combining circularity with design. The new deck was treated with an oil layer, both to protect the wood and to enhance its natural appearance.

Acacia deck with oak structure
This garden terrace, built for a client with a flower business, features a durable oak structure topped with an acacia wood surface. The deck uses locally sourced hardwoods for strength and long-lasting performance while integrating naturally into the surrounding garden. Thin acacia laths were chosen for the surface, giving the terrace a distinctive appearance. The deck also provides a level surface in a garden that is uneven, making it easier to arrange tables, chairs, and other outdoor furniture. This construction technique is ideal for compensating for slopes and uneven terrain.
